The European Union hosts the fourth annual Our Ocean conference in Malta Oct. 4-6, 2017. The conference will bring together global leaders, scientists, community advocates, innovators, and representatives from nongovernmental organizations, including experts from Pew. Those attending the gathering in the Mediterranean island nation will discuss efforts to address illegal fishing, expand marine protections, drive commitments to reduce marine pollution, and support sustainable management of our global ocean and the resources it provides.

This collection of Pew resources covers a range of ocean issues. Among the topics are efforts to end illegal fishing; to encourage creation of large, fully protected marine reserves around the world, including international waters; and to improve the international management of tuna species.
