Research
We are studying mechanisms responsible for selective protein transport within cells. We mainly use yeast cells as the experimental organism because protein transport mechanisms are conserved between yeast and humans and yeast offer advantages of well-developed standard and molecular genetics as well as more recent genomic and proteomic approaches. Projects in the lab include: 1) Endocytosis and receptor sorting. 2) The mechanism of CCV formation at the Golgi complex.2) Clathrin-independent protein transport to the lysosome/vacuole.
