Research
Charles Rubin was a 1988 biomedical scholar and an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago until his death in 2015. His research was aimed at identifying and dissecting the chromosomal abnormalities that occur in childhood cancers. He was especially interested in brain tumors, eye tumors (retinoblastoma), tumors occurring in children with genetic syndromes, and the transplantation of bone marrow. Rubin was also involved in clinical trials for childhood cancer treatments.
