Research
My laboratory’s research interests include: 1) Intrinsic and synaptic properties that determine the functional integration of neural circuits and the generation of brain rhythms.2) The study of the circuit generated by respiratory rhythm and its alterations in sudden infant death. 3) Study of the hippocampal and cortical circuits and their alteration in Alzheimer’s Disease and Epilepsy.
The experimental approaches we are taking include: 1) Electrophysiological and fluorescence imaging techniques in brain slices in vitro. 2) Recording of electrophysiological activity associated with learning and memory tests in vivo. Records and breathing in vivo as well.
