Pew Submits Comments on 2016 National Drug Control Strategy
On Feb. 1, The Pew Charitable Trusts submitted a letter to Michael Botticelli, director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, offering recommendations to strengthen the 2016 National Drug Control Strategy.
Pew’s comments call for the use of drug utilization review and restriction programs in Medicare, increased efforts to enhance prescription drug monitoring programs, and a greater emphasis on safety concerns associated with the use of methadone to manage pain.
