Pew Supports Antibiotic Stewardship Rule for Hospitals

On Aug. 12, The Pew Charitable Trusts submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on the “conditions of participation” that hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) must meet to receive reimbursement from these programs.

The letter focused on provisions in the proposed regulations to include a new standard that requires hospitals and CAHs to develop and maintain antibiotic stewardship programs.
