U.S. Senator Susan Collins on Addressing Rising Drug Prices

Addressing skyrocketing drug prices is a priority for Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), who has earned a national reputation for working across party lines to advance evidence-based solutions to pressing policy issues during 20 years in office. She has championed bipartisan measures in Congress to increase the affordability and accessibility of prescription drugs and led the Senate’s landmark 2015 bipartisan investigation into the rising prices of off-patent prescription drugs. Legislation she introduced to improve generic drug competition, and reduce costs, became law in 2017.

On Monday, July 16, Senator Collins spoke at The Pew Charitable Trusts and discussed her efforts to reduce Americans’ prescription drug expenses and ensure that patients have access to needed therapies.
