Processing of personal data and data controller
In accordance with the general data protection regulation (« GDPR »), this privacy statement is intended to provide certain information regarding the way we process your personal data when assessing your job application.
The controller of your personal data is The Pew Charitable Trusts, a non- profit organisation incorporated under the laws of Pennsylvania, with its registered office at One Commerce Square, 2005 Market Street, Suite 2800, Philadelphia PA 19103, USA, and with its Belgian branch office at SilverSquare Europe- Square de Meeus 35, 1000 Brussels.
Purposes of processing
We only process your personal data as part of our assessment of you job application (and related purposes) and will not use them for other purposes.

We typically process the following personal data about you:
- Contact details (telephone number, email address, postal address, etc.);
- Family situation;
- Information regarding your salary and benefits and other details in relation your current professional situation;
- Information regarding your education, qualifications and professional experience;
- All other information included in documents you provided (resume/CV), including electronic communications;
- In some instances, information obtained from external assessors.
We do not use profiling or automated-decision processes. The data we process about you is, in most cases, obtained from you. In certain circumstances, we may verify certain information or data (e.g., data regarding your education or your professional experience) with third parties (education institutions or past employers).
We do not collect any additional personal data about you other than that outlined above. Under no circumstances will the personal data you provide be used for marketing purposes.
Retention of personal data
Generally speaking, your personal data will be kept as long as necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes described above.
In most cases, this will result in us keeping your personal data for the period necessary to the recruitment process. If, further to this process, we conclude an employment contract or any other collaboration agreement, your data will in that case be processed in order to perform that contract or agreement (we will in that case separately inform you of the modalities of the processing of your data and applicable period of retention).
If your application is unsuccessful, we maintain your data in the system indefinitely in order to deal with any matter which may arise in connection with your application, for purposes of contacting you in connection with ongoing recruitment opportunities, as well as for data analysis, general management and business purposes. If you do not wish your data to be maintained for this purpose, please contact [email protected] to request deletion.
Rights
You have the right to request access to your personal data, and its correction in the event of inaccuracies. You also have the right to request erasure of your personal data when such data is no longer relevant. Although you may request that your personal data be deleted at any time, we may have to retain certain personal data for contract performance purposes or in order to comply with statutory retention obligations.
In addition, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in relation to justified personal circumstances and to request the restriction of the processing in specific circumstances.
You can update your contact details at any time by visiting your candidate account and updating your information accordingly. Finally, note that you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to Pew, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (data portability).
Sharing your personal data
To achieve better quality or efficiency in the processing and administration of applicant and employee data, Pew may enter into contracts with third parties to carry out this processing on behalf of and only according to Pew’s instructions. Please also note that when data is transferred to third parties, these parties are bound by confidentiality and data protection agreements and are required to keep your data securely. Such third-parties may include data hosting providers, recruitment professionals and the like.
The technical processing and transmission of your personal data (whether within Pew or through third parties) may involve transmissions over various networks, including the transfer of your personal data to the United States and/or other countries for storage, processing and use. This may include countries located outside the European Economic Area (EEA) which do not offer a level of protection for personal data comparable to that offer by Belgian or EU law. In that case, Pew shall take adequate measures (amongst which standard contractual clauses for the transfer of personal data) in order to ensure that your personal data is sufficiently protected.
