Las pesquerías de la UE están en apuros. Actualmente casi el 50% de las poblaciones de peces evaluadas en el Mar del Norte y en el Atlántico Noreste están sobreexplotadas. Esta cifra asciende a más del 90% en el caso del mar Mediterráneo.
