Secretaries of State Meet in Nation's Capital
Next week the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) will host its winter conference in Washington from Feb. 10 to 13, welcoming new members. Secretaries from across the country will attend, including nearly a dozen of the 16 new members.
The agenda for the meeting includes:
- Continuing bipartisan work on voter registration and military and overseas voting.
- Discussing how to deliver a well-run presidential election in 2016 using lessons learned from past elections.
- Hearing from the three new commissioners of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.
- Focusing on major topics of concern to all states such as aging voting equipment, funding for election administration, National Voter Registration Month, and the impact of the Electronic Registration Information Center and Voting Information Project, among other initiatives.
From July 9 to 12, NASS will hold its annual summer conference in Portland, Maine.
