Voter registration rolls in America are often out-of-date and complicated to maintain because millions of Americans move, die, or change their names each year. The Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), owned and operated by participating states, privately and securely compares multiple data records to one another simultaneously and alerts state election officials to important changes in voters' records.
