The Clean Air Council, in partnership with the community, industry professionals, and academics, is conducting a health impact assessment (HIA) of a proposed Royal Dutch Shell natural gas and chemical processing station in Monaca, Pennsylvania. The proposed facility is known as a “cracker,” which will separate natural gas and chemical feedstocks into different compounds which are used primarily in the manufacturing process of plastics.
