Landmark legislation signed by Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber will protect nearly 200 square kilometers of the state's ocean — safeguarding the marine ecosystem and species such as yelloweye rockfish and lingcod. The new law has the support of members of Our Ocean, a coalition representing more than 250,000 Oregonians including scientists, conservationists, ocean users and local and business leaders.
