The Pew Charitable Trusts provided a statement to the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee for a Feb. 9, 2022, hearing on implementation of the bipartisan Great American Outdoors Act. The statement highlighted the National Park Service’s significant progress in making repairs funded by the act and encouraged continued implementation. Pew also emphasized the importance of adequate annual appropriations, partnerships, and policy reforms to maintain the momentum and ensure that NPS can promptly address new repair needs.
