Pew, Stakeholders Urge Hearing on Antimicrobial Resistance

The Pew Charitable Trusts joined more than 50 organizations urging the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce to convene a hearing on the worsening crisis of antimicrobial resistance. A letter sent to the committee on Sept. 9 highlighted the need to discuss potential economic solutions to address the current market challenges that affect antimicrobial drug development, as well as policies to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship, surveillance, research, and the prevention of infection.
