Winnie Lau, senior manager with Pew’s preventing ocean plastics project, testified before the House of Representative’s Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies on March 18. Lau addressed the key findings from Pew’s 2020 “Breaking the Plastic Wave” report and accompanying Science paper, and shared related policy options to address the global ocean plastic pollution problem.
