Pew Urges Federal Government to Expand Lab Result Data Requirements During Pandemic
The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter July 16 to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services urging it to require inclusion of more data elements when laboratories share test results with local, state, and federal health authorities. The letter specifically cited the need for requiring race, ethnicity, and contact information (such as phone numbers) to help officials understand and track the spread of COVID-19.
