Pew Commends Oregon Plan to Address Ocean Acidification

On July 9, 2019, The Pew Charitable Trusts submitted comments to the Oregon Coordinating Council on Ocean Acidification and Hypoxia expressing support for measures outlined in the state’s draft Ocean Acidification and Hypoxia Action Plan that could help mitigate the effects of climate change and build resilience for coastal communities. Pew also encouraged the state to expand its efforts to conserve coastal habitats by developing and enacting policies to protect and restore submerged aquatic vegetation such as kelp and eelgrass.
