Pew Urges Texas to Adopt Policies that Can Reduce the Impacts of Floods
Velma Smith, senior officer in government relations with The Pew Charitable Trusts’ flood-prepared communities initiative, testified before the Texas State Legislature on Feb. 12. Smith spoke about mitigation policies that can reduce the impact of flood-related disasters. Smith also provided written testimony to the legislature in March discussing the importance of disclosing flood risk to potential homebuyers and renters.
