The Pew Charitable Trusts’ drug spending research initiative submitted comments Aug. 23 to the Louisiana Department of Health on alternative payment models that could help the state provide hepatitis C treatment to its Medicaid, uninsured, and correctional populations.
Pew’s comments focus on how Louisiana could access discounted pricing for hepatitis C drugs for people in these groups and how the state could leverage negotiations for these drugs to also lower treatment costs for HIV.
