Pew Provides Feedback on Reducing Drug Costs in Louisiana

The Pew Charitable Trusts’ drug spending research initiative submitted comments Aug. 23 to the Louisiana Department of Health on alternative payment models that could help the state provide hepatitis C treatment to its Medicaid, uninsured, and correctional populations.

Pew’s comments focus on how Louisiana could access discounted pricing for hepatitis C drugs for people in these groups and how the state could leverage negotiations for these drugs to also lower treatment costs for HIV.
