Pew Urges Trump Administration Support for ‘Common Sense Approach’ to Infrastructure Spending

On March 17, The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter to the White House urging support for Executive Order 13690, the Federal Flood Risk Management Standard (FFRMS), which was issued Jan. 30, 2015. In the letter, Laura Lightbody, director of Pew’s flood-prepared communities program, stresses that new construction and repairs of public infrastructure should be built with long-term consideration of flood risks. The FFRMS enhances public safety, ensures long-term fiscal responsibility, and promotes flood-prepared communities.
