Pew Urges Congress to Preserve Patient Protections in Compounding Law

The Pew Charitable Trusts joined with the American Public Health Association, the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, the Generic Pharmaceutical Association, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, and Trust for America’s Health to send a letter to the chair and ranking member of the U.S. House and Senate Appropriations subcommittees on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies. The groups urged the committees not to limit FDA’s ability to enforce federal drug compounding law, including requirements on prescriptions and quality standards.
