Comment Letter to the CFPB Regarding Testing of Point-of-Sale and ATM Overdraft Disclosure Forms

The Pew Charitable Trusts filed the following letter with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Nov. 3, 2015, in response to the bureau’s request for comment on proposed Web-based quantitative testing of point-of-sale and ATM overdraft disclosure forms.

Pew has conducted extensive research on overdrafts, including surveys specifically targeting consumers who have overdrawn their accounts as a result of such transactions. In the letter, Pew expressed support for the CFPB’s efforts and offered several recommendations to enhance the quality of the testing.
