Pew Comments on National Medical Device Registry Task Force report

The Pew Charitable Trusts submitted comments to the Food and Drug Administration on Oct. 26, 2015, regarding the report Recommendations for a National Medical Device Evaluation System: Strategically Coordinated Registry Networks to Bridge Clinical Care and Research.

Pew’s comments recommended that the task force prioritize further incorporation of unique device identifier information into health data sources, adopt a common data model registry-wide, develop better algorithms for patient matching, and encourage multi-stakeholder involvement in developing a sustainable coordinating center.
