Children's Dental Health: Nevada
Making Coverage Matter
Nevada meets half of the eight policy benchmarks aimed at addressing children's dental health needs. In 2009, the state surpassed the threshold of Medicaid-enrolled children receiving dental care, even though Medicaid reimbursement slipped slightly in relation to dentists' usual fees. And Nevada still just misses the benchmark for fluoridation, with 72 percent of its citizens on community systems receiving optimally fluoridated water.
