California's New Online Voter Registration Outreach Tool Kit
Future of California Elections—a collaboration of state officials, community organizations, and reform groups that works to improve California’s election system—has announced a new resource to help interested individuals and organizations promote the state’s online voter registration system. The free outreach tool kit includes suggested language for emails, newsletters, and press releases; messages and images for social media content; and instructions to embed a link to California’s online registration portal. The link is available in each of the 10 languages supported by the portal: English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese.
The tool kit also includes demographic statistics about California’s population of eligible but unregistered citizens, who make up almost a third of all eligible voters in the state. Youth and minority citizens are the most underrepresented among the registered population.
