A Journey of Discovery to French Polynesia

Come along on a virtual expedition to French Polynesia’s Austral and Gambier islands. Amelia Connell of The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Global Ocean Legacy project is traveling with a team of leading scientists to explore this unique marine environment in the southern Pacific Ocean.

The crew is examining the biodiversity of these waters to better understand how they compare with other areas in the South Pacific, such as the remote Pitcairn Islands and the Kermadec Islands off New Zealand’s North Island.
