The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, a congressionally mandated commission responsible for monitoring and investigating national security and trade issues between the U.S. and China, held a hearing on March 3 entitled “China's Healthcare Sector, Drug Safety, and the U.S.-China Trade in Medical Products.”

Allan Coukell, senior director of drugs and medical devices testified on global pharmaceutical supply chain security and the importance of the newly passed Drug Quality and Security Act.
