California Online Voter Registration

New research about online voter registration in California finds that the breakdown of voters who used the new system before last November’s election was much like the breakdown of overall registrants in 2012:

  • 22.6 percent of online registrants were Latino compared with 22 percent of all registrants.
  • 11.1 percent of voters registering online were Asian-American compared with 9.1 percent of all registrants.
  • 59.8 percent of online registrants were white compared with 61.4 percent of all registrants.
