More than 160 organizations call for passage of bill to spur antibiotic development

Pew Urges Congress to Pass the PASTEUR Act

On Nov. 16, 2022, The Pew Charitable Trusts joined more than 160 organizations to send a letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Minority Leaders Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell urging Congress to pass the Pioneering Antimicrobial Subscriptions to End Upsurging Resistance (PASTEUR) Act before the end of this legislative cycle. The bill, which has more than 60 bipartisan co-sponsors, would help spur antibiotic development and address the growing threat of antibiotic resistance.
