On Oct. 3, 2022, The Pew Charitable Trusts and 94 other organizations sent a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra to thank him for being the first person in his position to attend the World Anti-Microbial Resistance Congress. In the letter, the organizations encourage Secretary Becerra to call on Congress to pass the PASTEUR Act, a bill that would support antibiotic development and has more than 60 bipartisan co-sponsors.
