Pew Supports Policies That Promote Opioid Use Disorder Treatment, Better Sharing of Public Health Data

Promoting Opioid Use Disorder Treatment

The Pew Charitable Trusts sent comments on Sept. 6 to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in response to proposed regulations updating health care provider payment policies when treating Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.

Specifically, Pew called on CMS to continue to increase access to evidence-based treatment for patients with opioid use disorder as well as expand the use of electronic health records that share information with public health agencies.
