Pew Urges USDA to Increase Efforts Against Superbugs

The Pew Charitable Trusts has urged the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to increase efforts to improve data collection and reporting on antibiotic use in animal agriculture. In a letter sent to the agency on May 13, Pew also encouraged USDA to support research concentrated on improved animal management practices and alternative therapies that limit the need for antibiotic use in food animals.
