Wide Support for Bill to Provide Critical Resources to Fight Antibiotic Resistance

Pew and other groups urge Senate to pass legislation supporting antibiotic development and stewardship

Wide Support for Antibiotic Resistance Bill

On Dec. 14, The Pew Charitable Trusts together with more than 40 organizations sent a letter to Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Todd Young (R-IN), thanking them for introducing the Pioneering Antimicrobial Subscriptions to End Upsurging Resistance (PASTEUR) Act (PDF). The PASTEUR Act would promote development of antibiotics urgently needed to combat the growing threat of antibiotic resistance, and also support antibiotic stewardship efforts that can help preserve the effectiveness of these lifesaving drugs.
