Pew Praises Representatives for Spurring Antibiotic Development

On Dec. 11, The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter to Representatives Mike Doyle (D-PA) and Drew Ferguson (R-GA) in support of the Pioneering Antimicrobial Subscriptions to End Upsurging Resistance (PASTEUR) Act, which they recently introduced, as companion legislation to a Senate bill proposed earlier this year. If passed, the bill would incentivize the development of critically needed antibiotics to treat the most threatening infections, and help stabilize the antibiotic market.
