In a written statement submitted for the Sept. 16 hearing of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests, and Mining, The Pew Charitable Trusts expressed support for legislation to safeguard public lands and rivers in Montana, Oregon, Nevada, and New Mexico. The bill also has the backing of local businesses, recreation organizations, conservation and sporting groups, and other stakeholders.
