Pew Urges Significant Reforms to Antibiotic Payment System

On July 10, The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding proposed changes to the way the agency reimburses antibiotics. In the letter, Pew provides feedback on the minor changes proposed by CMS and urges the agency to implement more significant reforms to the current system, which disincentivizes hospitals and doctors from procuring and using new antibiotics.
