The Pew Charitable Trusts, on behalf of the Code Project, submitted comments to the Indian Ministry of Earth Sciences encouraging the government to strengthen its analysis of the potential environmental impacts of a deep sea mining equipment test planned for 2021. The Code Project is a Pew-sponsored coalition of scientists, lawyers, and regulatory experts brought together to analyze the International Seabed Authority’s rules governing mining activities in the deep ocean beyond national jurisdictions.
