On Dec. 21, The Pew Charitable Trusts’ drug spending research initiative submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services about the agency’s plan to align Medicare Part B payments for select physician-administered drugs more closely with prices in other countries based on an international pricing index.
The comments suggest ways in which Medicare could leverage both international and domestic market-based approaches to reduce drug spending.
