Pew Calls on Federal Agency to Promote Health Data Interoperability, Track Medical Devices

The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter June 25 to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) urging the agency to promote greater interoperability of health data and require the tracking of unique medical device identifiers as it works to update its rules on hospital inpatient payments. The comments come in response to the draft Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System rule recently proposed by CMS.
