Pew Calls on Senate Committee to Advance Opioids Legislation

On June 11, The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter to the Senate Finance Committee urging members to prioritize legislation that will expand access to high-quality treatment for substance use disorder. Specifically, Pew asked committee members to pursue policies that support:

  • Medicare and Medicaid coverage of all Food and Drug Administration-approved medications;
  • Coverage for all levels of care defined by the American Society of Addiction Medicine; and
  • Innovative treatment models that have shown promise in saving lives and improving outcomes.
