The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter to the Federation of State Medical Boards offering comments on its draft position statement regarding compounding of medications by physicians. Pew commended the federation for taking an important and welcome step in crafting a position statement that recognizes the important roles physicians play as prescribers, purchasers, and compounders. Pew also provided specific feedback on the draft.
