The Pew Charitable Trusts sent letters on April 26 to the Senate and House Appropriations committees’ subcommittees on homeland security outlining reasons to support investment in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program and flood risk mapping. The committees are considering funding levels for fiscal year 2018 appropriations legislation, and the letters ask Congress to fund these two programs at no less than the levels it appropriated in fiscal 2016.
