Pew Supports FDA Efforts to Streamline Regulation of Over-the-Counter Drugs

Pew has sent comments to the Food and Drug Administration supporting its proposal to establish a user fee program to that would help enable faster and more efficient review of the safety and efficacy of listed or proposed ingredients in monographs for over-the-counter drugs. In its Oct. 6 letter, Pew outlined several recommendations aimed at ensuring that FDA has adequate authority, flexibility, and resources to regulate these drug products.
