On Dec. 15, The Pew Charitable Trusts submitted comments on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program’s Stage 3 final regulation, issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The comments support recent updates to the meaningful use program and EHR certification criteria that would make it easier for patients and health care providers to store, share, and access advance care plans across settings. In addition, Pew made several recommendations for how to strengthen access to advance care plans in EHRs.
