Pew Addresses Senate Finance Committee Chronic Care Working Group

The Pew Charitable Trusts submitted comments via a letter to the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, along with the co-chairs of the bipartisan Chronic Care Working Group, urging greater support for chronically ill Medicare beneficiaries and patients near the end of life.

In May, Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR) announced that Senators Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and Mark Warner (D-VA) would lead the working group as it explores solutions intended to help improve outcomes for Medicare patients who require medical care to address pre-existing or long-term illnesses.
