The Transforming Evidence Network (TEN) serves as a global networking and knowledge hub for promoting innovations in the production, mobilization, and use of research and evidence for more effective and equitable societal outcomes. A collaboration involving The Pew Charitable Trusts, the William T. Grant Foundation, and Transforming Evidence, the network fosters connections and knowledge-sharing among evidence scholars, policy professionals, community leaders, funders, and boundary spanners and intermediaries (experts in linking evidence and decision-making) across sectors and around the world.
Experts in different policy sectors, scholarly disciplines, and countries have unique insights about the science and practice of making, mobilizing, and using evidence but see few opportunities to interact with and learn from one another. By bringing these groups together, TEN breaks down disciplinary and sectoral silos to identify the best available knowledge about how to generate research, connect multiple sources of evidence, translate evidence for use in policy and practice, and structure decision-making processes. Drawing on these diverse insights, TEN participants work together to identify and develop evidence-informed, equitable approaches to tackling societal challenges.
TEN participants focus on deeper relationships among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to produce better, more equitable outcomes on a range of issues. By highlighting innovative approaches and rigorous methodologies, TEN meets a need that many diverse institutions share: prioritizing evidence and equity in how they make decisions.
TEN hosts regular learning sessions, in-depth workshops, and public roundtables. Its inaugural biennial conference was held Oct. 3-5, 2022, in Miami Beach, Florida.
