At the request of the communities included in the Rincon Hill Area Plan, the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) conducted an HIA on the Draft Environmental Impact Assessment (DEIA). In the form of a letter to the San Francisco Planning Department, SFDPH provided recommendations based on the HIA, for additional analyses related to health implications related to the Plan's impacts on affordable housing, transportation systems, schools and parks.
The suggested additional analyses were not conducted.
The Health Impact Project’s toolkit contains resources that help communities, agencies, and other organizations take action to improve public health. The toolkit offers a collection of health impact assessments, guides, and other research to support policymakers’ efforts to consider health when making decisions across sectors, such as housing, planning, and education.
