District of Columbia Offers Election App

Residents of the nation’s capital can access a wide range of election information, register to vote, or update their voter registration information from their mobile devices using the District Board of Elections’ mobile app, Vote 4 DC.

The app allows citizens to conduct registration transactions electronically, without the need for any paper. After applicants submit the required information, the app prompts them to sign their name using their touch screen. Voters then receive a copy of their application via email.

In addition, District residents can use the app to:

  • Check their registration status.
  • Request an absentee ballot.
  • View a calendar of important election dates and deadlines.
  • Find information for military and overseas voters.

District election officials are working to build an online voter registration system, as authorized by the City Council, that will be available not just via the app but also through any Web browser.
