Webcast: Strategies for Managing Prison Health Care Spending

Pew's Maria Schiff joined a webcast panel discussion on inmate health care in state prisons, hosted by the National Governors Association (NGA) on Wednesday, December 11.

Schiff spoke about factors that have driven up prison health care spending in most states and innovative strategies some states have used to deliver quality care, protect public safety, and control costs. Officials from California, Connecticut, and New Jersey shared their insights on correctional health care challenges and successes in their state.
